It was the first TLC event featuring a stairs match. Eight matches were scheduled on the events card and one match took place on the pre-show which was streamed live on the WWE Network. The main event saw Bray Wyatt defeat Dean Ambrose in a Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match. The pay-per-view also saw the return of Roman Reigns, who announced himself as the first entrant in the following month’s Royal Rumble match.
